Major Progress

Maya is really making great progress (aside from her sweet introduction into the terrible twos). On Sunday, I left her home with her Dad for almost 3 hours while I did some shopping and she didn't freak out. Last night, Dave took her to the Little Gym for a trial class. She has never left the house without me before so it was a little bit of a scene when he tried to coax her to leave with him. He finally had to pick up the screaming Maya and put her in the car. She calmed down eventually.

The class is 45 mins long and consists of some gymnastic skills, aerobics, songs and other structured group activities designed to burn a ton of energy. Dave said the first 15-20 mins of the class she was pretty timid and didn't really get into it. He said the last half of the class, she started getting into it. She even got on the balance beam and hung from the monkey bars. She really loved it when they rolled out a zillion balls. Dave said she absolutely loved it and he wants to sign her up for it. The class is only once a week and it's fairly reasonable. We figured it's a great way for her to burn up some energy and to also socialize with kids her age, plus it's fun!
